Local Law Office Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary
The Staff of The Law Offices of William K. Goldfarb congratulates their boss, William K. Goldfarb, on the 10-year anniversary of the opening of his law practice on March 18, 1996.
The firm’s first office space consisted of approximately 933 square feet, which was rented from Sonny Damon at 301 S. Charlotte Avenue here in Monroe. Sonny constructed the building as a 3-tenant building and William opened his office by occupying the smallest of the three units. As the practice rapidly grew, in early 2002, William rented an additional unit in the building consisting of 1,330 square feet, at which time he had four assistants working for him. The practice kept growing and growing and growing and in October 2005, William purchased the entire building consisting of approximately 4,000 square feet from Sonny, at which time the office had grown to a staff consisting of: Shelia Forbis (Office Manager & Litigation Assistant), Buffie Chaney (Litigation Assistant), Kathy Medlin (Worker’s Compensation Assistant), Donna Bullock (Paralegal), Angie Chaney (Bookkeeper & Scheduling Coordinator), Rachel Helms (Personal Injury Case Worker), Xenia “Gabby” Zeballos (Receptionist & Spanish Translator), Kyle Kirby (Clerk), and Graham T. Siles (Trial Attorney). Now the entire building has been renovated to a “1-tenant office” and we are filled to capacity. We often tell our clients that before long, we will have mobile units around our building as the county schools do!
Our firm handles personal injury cases, worker’s compensation cases, medical malpractice cases, professional negligence cases and some traffic matters. To date, we have settled and closed approximately 1,700 files, which are stored at an off-site storage facility. We currently serve approximately 350 clients. We feel that our clients are our extended families and with our open-door policy, our clients are always welcome to drop by any time to check on the status of their cases and/or update us with their medical treatment. We truly work for the people of Union County and the surrounding counties. Not only do we have clients in Union County, but we also have clients and lawsuits filed in Anson, Cabarrus, Cleveland, Forsyth, Gaston, Mecklenburg, Stanley, and Rowan Counties. Our firm does not advertise nor solicit clients. Our clients come to us by word of mouth from current or previous clients as well as from other attorneys, friends, acquaintances, and other business associates.
As you might well imagine, we are all very proud of William and of all the services we have been able to assist him in providing to the people. There are many risks involved in operating an office such as ours, especially given the fact that we only make money when we win cases. Our clients do not advance any money to us to represent them nor do they advance any money toward the costs and expenses incurred in pursuing their cases. It is quite simple — if we do not win, no one pays us anything.
Again, we congratulate William and thank him for all he does not only for our clients, but also for us, his staff. His thoughtfulness, appreciation of what we do, and generosity never goes unnoticed by any of us.
We love you William and our hats are off to you !!! Happy Anniversary !!!
