A fourth-grade teacher and another driver were seriously injured in a head-on collision on Carolina’s Highway 73 on Thursday morning.  According to sources close to the case, the collision occurred less than a mile from the school where the teacher was employed.  The accident occurred when a Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by the other driver apparently crossed the median and struck the teacher’s car at 55 mph.

New barriers have been constructed on portions of North Carolina’s Interstate 440 after two deaths involving Good Samaritans occurred within the past four years. A Charlotte man turned himself into police officials for a deadly hit-and-run, He was charged with felony hit and run.

The man was driving a friend’s car around 6:30 p.m. when he hit a pedestrian. The passenger in the car said it happened so quickly that they didn’t even realize what happened. After looking at the damage on the car, he saw that he must have hit the pedestrian and turned himself in.

On Jan. 4, a tractor trailer was pulled over in the emergency lane when a car slammed into the back of it.

The truck was pulled over due to mechanical problems, when a 37-year-old hit the back of the trailer. The 37-year-old died in the accident.
